Hank Hury

George Bernard Hury was my great-great grandfather. I was born George Henry Hury, Jr. in 1949 in Harlingen, Texas. I legally changed my name to Hank Hury a few years ago. (It's simple, that's what everyone has always called me, and I think I'm the only person with that name in the whole world. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

My father was George Henry Hury, born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1912. His father was William Henry Hury, born in Columbus, MS in 1880. His father was Henry Rebman Hury, born in Columbus, MS in 1857. And his father was George Bernard Hury.

I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA) with my partner of 26 years, Jim. The photo was taken in the Spring of 2006 as we are completing the construction of our condo near the beach. We hope to be in by September. We moved here from Washington, DC. We've also lived in Boston, MA, Hartford, CT and spent a number of years in Houston.

I graduated from the University of Texas (Pan American campus) and was in banking for many years - in commerical banking, as a commissioned examiner with the Texas Banking Department and with financial data processing companies. Now I do real estate speculation here in Ft. Lauderdale.
